Our firm represents a diverse mix of clients on transactional and litigation matters related to real estate. Starting in the health care space, we have advised clients on matters of real estate law and the interplay between transactional matters and healthcare compliance. We also represent clients in acquiring property from governmental bodies, including tax foreclosures and sheriff sales. The firm has also represented private sector developers in responding to RFQs and RFPs for multi-million dollar development and redevelopment projects.
Our real estate practice also takes advantage of the firm’s litigation expertise by defending our clients’ interest in property including quiet title actions, challenges to governmental foreclosures, and constitutional challenges in federal court. We also advise our clients regarding zoning matters and appearing before governmental bodies to request appropriate governmental approvals.
To date, our firm has successfully negotiated development agreements for the acquisition of hundreds of parcels of formerly government-owned land. Additionally, we have favorably resolved dozens of litigation matters in both state and federal court on behalf of our clients against challenges to their ownership rights.
Partner Matthew Schenk heads up the transactional practice in our real estate area, while Partner Stephanie Ottenwess takes the lead on all transactional matters that have health care compliance implications. Partners David Ottenwess, Tony Taweel, and Tom Bruetsch each have extensive litigation experience in real estate matters.
